Manchester City are overwhelming favourites to win the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday, with seven pundits predicting victory for Pep Guardiola's side at Wembley. City are chasing a domestic cup double after winning the Carabao Cup in March, while Chelsea interim boss Calum McFarlane seeks his first trophy in charge.
Alan Shearer expects a narrow City win, telling Metro: 'It is really interesting that City have lost the last two finals as favourites. I just think because of the mood that City are in, the belief and the confidence, they'll edge it.' Chris Sutton tipped a 5-0 rout for BBC Sport, citing the gulf between the sides and Erling Haaland's return after being rested against Crystal Palace.
Former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley warned his old club could face a tough afternoon, telling ESPN: 'If City play to their level it could be a tough day for Chelsea. They have good players but a lot of them haven't played particularly well.' Nedum Onuoha, a former City defender, backed his old side to win 4-2, noting Chelsea's inconsistent form.
City needed a late fightback to beat Southampton 2-1 in the semi-finals, while Chelsea edged Leeds 1-0 thanks to Enzo Fernandez. Guardiola's men have lost their last two finals as favourites, including last year's FA Cup final to Crystal Palace.
