England Lioness Ella Toone has announced her engagement to Joe Bunney after a romantic beach proposal in Ibiza. The 25-year-old footballer shared photos on Instagram of the moment Bunney proposed in front of the ocean, with a heart-shaped floral arch reading 'Will you marry me?' lit up in the centre.
Toone wore a knitted cream dress for the occasion, while Bunney opted for a white shirt and linen trousers. The couple were joined by Bunney's four-year-old son Arlo, who held a red rose. A bench and small table were set up for celebratory drinks, with a tray of fruits and snacks.
Toone captioned her Instagram post: 'Forever … 04/08/25.' The proposal comes after three years of dating. Bunney is a non-league footballer for Stalybridge Celtic and a Manchester City fan, while Toone plays for Manchester United.
Fellow Lionesses and celebrities congratulated the couple, including Dame Kelly Holmes, Chloe Kelly, and Keira Walsh. The engagement follows England's second consecutive Euro Cup win, where Toone was a standout player.
