Chelsea would demand a big fee for Pedro Neto if they were to consider a sale this summer.
Standard Sport reported last month that Chelsea are not actively looking to offload the Portugal winger. That remains the case, despite interest from Manchester City - now managed by former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca — and links to Tottenham and Liverpool, plus clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Neto highly valued
Sources close to Chelsea have described Neto as “highly valued” and pointed to the inflated nature of fees in the current transfer market involving wingers to indicate that Neto would not be sold unless a very significant offer was made.
Standard Sport also reported last month that Chelsea had not held serious talks with any clubs this summer over Neto. Sources at both clubs have denied that Tottenham made an enquiry about Neto’s availability earlier in the window.
Potential exits
Chelsea are set to sanction a number of exits before the transfer deadline on September 1, with a deal now agreed with Serie A outfit Como worth around £31million for versatile defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The respective Stamford Bridge futures of strikers Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu have been thrown into further doubt after the arrival of veteran frontman Danny Welbeck from Brighton.
Defenders Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile could also depart as new manager Xabi Alonso seeks to further trim down his centre-back options following the £52m signing of Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.
Other moves
Chelsea remain in talks with Championship club Portsmouth over a loan agreement for highly-rated Blues youngster Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos and Tyrique George have all been sold by Chelsea so far this summer, while Alejandro Garnacho joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal that will automatically be made permanent next summer if certain targets are met during the season.
Chelsea’s list of incomings in this window so far includes Morgan Rogers in a club-record £117m move from Villa, plus Lacroix, Welbeck, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco and right-back Marco Palestra, in addition to pre-agreed signings such as Emmanuel Emegha, Geovany Quenda and Dastan Satpayev.
Chelsea are also now closing in on a deal for Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria.
