Celtic have finalised a deal for winger Haissem Hassan, with an official announcement imminent. The 25-year-old Egypt international is expected in Glasgow shortly to complete the move.
Agreement reached
Record Sport previously revealed that Celtic were confident of landing Hassan below his £10m release clause. Now, a report from Spain indicates that an agreement has been struck, with the deal all-but rubber-stamped.
Celtic have tracked Hassan since his standout performance against Argentina in the last 16 of the World Cup. The transfer is set to be registered before Thursday's Champions League deadline, ahead of Celtic's playoff round clash with LASK.
Alternative target dropped
Celtic had also monitored Oviedo's Hassan and Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis. However, the deal for the Algerian fell through, with both Celtic and Rangers walking away from protracted negotiations with the Serie A newcomers.
