Manchester United are reportedly considering a £60m bid for Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall as Michael Carrick plans for life without Marcus Rashford. The England international's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, with Fenerbahce showing interest.
Rashford's uncertain future
Rashford is set to return to Carrington after his post-World Cup break, but his long-term future is unclear. Barcelona opted not to make his loan permanent, instead signing Anthony Gordon, leaving the 28-year-old in limbo.
According to The Sun, Rashford is on Fenerbahce's shortlist alongside AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr. The Turkish club have reportedly contacted his representatives.
Hall as the solution
If Rashford departs, Carrick could turn to Hall, who has emerged as a key target. The 21-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, and United are said to be preparing an initial bid of around £60m.
Hall's versatility is a valuable asset, having played 26 matches at left midfield in his career. His arrival would provide depth on the left side, especially with Patrick Dorgu expected to play back-up to Matheus Cunha in attack.
Newcastle exodus
Hall's departure would be the fourth major exit from Newcastle this summer, following Gordon, Sandro Tonali, and manager Eddie Howe. The England defender is keen to become a first-choice left-back, which could sway his decision.
Carrick needs depth for a potentially longer campaign, and selling the long-term vision to Hall could give United plenty of options on the left flank.
