First-round highlights and new entrants
The first two rounds of the competition are divided into southern and northern sections. Among the most anticipated fixtures on Saturday is an all-Championship showdown between Derby and newly promoted Lincoln City, as well as West Ham welcoming Portsmouth to the London Stadium.
The second round introduces top-flight teams by bringing in the 11 Premier League clubs that are not participating in European competitions this season. They will be placed into the draw pots alongside the 35 clubs that successfully navigate their first-round matchups, before the remaining nine top-flight sides enter in round three.
