The Carabao Cup second round draw takes place this evening, with Chelsea and Tottenham among the Premier League clubs entering the competition at this stage. The draw is scheduled for approximately 7.20pm BST and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
London clubs face potential derbies
The second round is regionalised, meaning London clubs – including Brentford, Fulham, Charlton, Millwall, West Ham and AFC Wimbledon – will avoid long trips north for midweek fixtures later this month. This increases the likelihood of at least one London derby.
Other teams in the hat
Newcastle, winners of the competition in 2025, are in the draw alongside Everton, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and several Championship sides hoping for a favourable tie.
Chelsea and Tottenham enter at this stage after finishing tenth and 17th respectively in the Premier League last season, and with no European commitments this campaign.
