Brooke Hogan has broken her silence following the death of her father, Hulk Hogan, revealing the true reason for their estrangement in the last two years of his life. The wrestling legend, real name Terry Bollea, died on July 24 at age 71 from a major heart attack.
In an emotional Instagram post, Brooke, 37, explained there was no single 'big fight' that caused the rift, but rather 'a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.' She said her father confided in her about personal and business issues, and she offered support, begging him to rest and take care of himself after nearly 25 surgeries.
Brooke and her husband, former NHL player Steven Oleksy, moved to Florida to be closer to Hulk and help him recover. However, she said he suddenly became distant, not wanting her at surgeries, and 'everything started getting covered in a thick veil.' She felt a 'force field' around him she couldn't penetrate.
The mother of twins, born in January 2025, said she 'had to step away to protect my heart' after 'respectful disagreements.' She added: 'I know in my heart I did everything I could. He knew I would run through a burning building for him.'
Brooke rose to fame on the reality show Hogan Knows Best (2005-2007) but later chose a private life. Her mother, Linda, had hinted at the estrangement in March, saying Brooke 'doesn't talk to us' and didn't inform them of her marriage or twins.
