Arsenal Outcast Nwaneri Gets England Call-Up for World Cup Training Camp

Ethan Nwaneri, who left Arsenal in January for Marseille, has been added to England's pre-World Cup training camp squad. The 26-man squad named by Thomas Tuchel on Friday has been expanded to include Nwaneri and three other young talents for the camp in Florida.

The other additions are Fulham's Josh King, Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha, and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Tuchel confirmed Scott was on the long list of 55 players for the World Cup squad and praised his commitment to join the pre-camp.

England will face New Zealand on June 6 and Costa Rica on June 10 before their World Cup opener against Croatia on June 17. The group stage also includes matches against Ghana and Panama.

Tuchel has left out Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Harry Maguire, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while including surprise picks like Ivan Toney, Djed Spence, and Dan Burn. The German coach defended his selections, stating the goal is to build the best team, not just collect the most talented players.
