Arsenal are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, with the £60m-rated centre-back remaining a priority target. Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli is said to have ruled out a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Konsa bid expected
The Gunners have already tabled an offer that fell well below Villa's £60m valuation for the 28-year-old, according to Football London. However, the Mail reports that Konsa remains firmly in Arsenal's sights as a key defensive target.
William Saliba's extended injury lay-off has strengthened Mikel Arteta's resolve to bring in established Premier League cover at centre-back. Villa are under no financial pressure to sell Konsa, having recently banked a considerable sum from Chelsea for Morgan Rogers. The England defender also has two years remaining on his current contract.
Martinelli's future
Gabriel Martinelli is understood to have several clubs interested in him ahead of a potential departure this summer. The Brazilian's playing time could be significantly reduced should Arsenal land another left winger.
According to CBS Sports, Serie A clubs Roma and Juventus, along with Turkish side Fenerbahce, have been monitoring his situation closely. Martinelli is said to be in no rush to make a decision, given his current satisfaction at the club and the fact he has 12 months left on his deal.
However, talkSPORT reports that a move to the Saudi Pro League holds minimal attraction for the 25-year-old at this point.
