Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to three alternative attacking targets after Vinicius Junior decided to sign a new contract with Real Madrid, ending the Gunners' hopes of a sensational move.
Vinicius Jr stays at Real Madrid
The north London club had been preparing a record-breaking contract offer to lure the Brazil international to the Emirates Stadium, with the forward entering the final year of his deal at the Bernabeu. However, Real Madrid improved their offer, and Vinicius has now committed his future to the La Liga side.
Three new targets identified
Arsenal are now weighing up options to strengthen their left-wing position, with PSG's Bradley Barcola, Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye all under consideration, according to reports.
Barcola is also a target for Liverpool, with reports suggesting the French international has already agreed personal terms with the Reds. Andoni Iraola's side have reportedly entered preliminary talks with PSG for the £130m-rated winger, and Arsenal may trail Liverpool in the race due to PSG's valuation.
Alvarez is another option, though Atletico are demanding a high fee for the Argentina international, who has also been linked with Barcelona. However, Atletico have dismissed that speculation, and Alvarez appears likely to stay in Spain.
Ndiaye, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United this window, is the third name on Arsenal's radar, having been previously linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
