AC Milan: Amorim's 'bomb squad' includes two ex-Chelsea stars
Amorim's 'bomb squad' at Milan includes two ex-Chelsea stars

Ruben Amorim has placed seven AC Milan players in his 'bomb squad' ahead of a reunion with his former club Manchester United, with two ex-Chelsea stars among those surplus to requirements.

Three former Premier League players listed

According to the Daily Mail, three former Premier League players feature on the list, including Fikayo Tomori and Christopher Nkunku, who both previously played for Chelsea. Pervis Estupinan, the former Brighton left-back, is also deemed unwanted.

The other players excluded from Amorim's plans are Santiago Gimenez, the former Feyenoord striker, Youssouf Fofana, David Odogu, and Filippo Terracciano.

Amorim's history with 'bomb squads'

Amorim is known for freezing out players, having done so at Manchester United with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia last summer. He was dismissed from Old Trafford in January with the club in sixth place in the Premier League.

He has since taken over at AC Milan, succeeding Massimiliano Allegri, and is implementing his preferred 3-4-2-1 system, which failed to produce results at United.

Milan's pre-season and upcoming fixture

In three official pre-season friendlies, Milan have drawn 2-2 with Celtic and 1-1 with Inter Milan, and lost 3-0 to Chelsea, with Joao Pedro scoring twice and Moises Caicedo adding another in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Amorim faces a reunion with United in Wroclaw, Poland, on Saturday. He could encounter Rashford, who has been welcomed back into the first-team fold at Old Trafford by Amorim's successor Michael Carrick.
