Man United to Wear Third Kit Against Hull in Premier League Opener

Manchester United have confirmed they will wear their ivory third kit for Saturday's Premier League opener at Hull City, with the match at the MKM Stadium kicking off at 12:30pm.

The club unveiled three kits ahead of the new season: the traditional red home shirt, a blue away kit, and the 'ivory coloured' third kit. Hull's home kit is a black and amber shirt with white shorts, so United will wear the ivory number.

Second outing for the third kit

The new kit made its debut last weekend in United's final pre-season friendly against AC Milan, a match they lost 4-2 despite taking a second-minute lead through Harry Maguire.

This will be United's second time wearing the third kit, and the first league match in the shirt since a 3-1 win at Bournemouth in 2016, when Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored under Jose Mourinho.

Sponsor logo change

Snapdragon sponsors United's shirts for a third straight season, but the third kit differs from the home and away shirts: it does not bear the company's name. Instead, it features the Snapdragon logo at the bottom of a cleaner three-pronged design, with the adidas logo and a more minimalist take on the United badge above it.

Club confirmation and new faces

United confirmed the kit choice in an announcement on their website earlier in the week. The club said: "Hopefully, we can replicate that 2016 opening-day trip to Bournemouth, and have our new third kit bank its own piece of history 10 years on."

The match at Hull could also give Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans their first minutes for United since joining over the summer. Both started against Milan, with Tielemans playing the full 90 minutes.
