Olympic cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy has opened up about his terminal cancer diagnosis in a new BBC documentary, airing tonight at 9pm on BBC One. The film follows Hoy as he formulates a constructive and defiant response to his prognosis, focusing on a charity bike ride called Glasgow: the Tour de Four.
The event has already smashed its fundraising target of £1 million for cancer sufferers, proving that a medical prognosis does not need to be the end. Famous friends, including Andy Murray and Jason Kenny, are on hand to lend support.
The documentary is part of an evening lineup that also includes the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards at 7pm, where golfer Rory McIlroy is favourite for the main award and the Lionesses are strong contenders for Team of the Year.
