Uncapped all-rounder James Coles was the most expensive signing at The Hundred men's auction on Thursday, joining London Spirit for £390,000. The 21-year-old, who bowls left-arm spin and has scored eight first-class centuries, attracted the highest bid of the day.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed was another notable signing, picked up by SunRisers Leeds, an IPL-affiliated team, for £190,000. The auction saw several other high-profile moves, with Jason Roy joining MI London and Mustafizur Rahman signing for Birmingham Phoenix for £100,000.
Other key signings included Nikhil Chaudhary, an uncapped overseas player, who went to Southern Brave for £31,000, and Caleb Falconer, who has yet to play professional cricket, joining the Brave for £55,000. Matt Short filled Welsh Fire's last overseas spot, while Sam Cook was bought by Welsh Fire for £70,000 after going unsold earlier.
The auction also saw Danny Briggs join Trent Rockets for £70,000, and Ethan Brookes signed by Birmingham Phoenix for the same amount. Reece Topley was acquired by SunRisers Leeds for £31,000, and Olly Stone joined MI London for £50,000.
The event concluded with Brad Currie and Louis Kimber joining Trent Rockets, and Paul Walter moving to Manchester Super Giants. Overall, the auction highlighted the growing financial stakes in English cricket, with several uncapped players securing significant deals.
