Katherine Brunt became England's leading wicket-taker in women's Twenty20 internationals as the hosts defeated South Africa by six wickets at New Road, clinching the three-match T20I series with a game to spare. Brunt surpassed Anya Shrubsole's record during the final over of South Africa's innings, finishing with figures of one for 29.
Alice Capsey, making her debut in place of the injured captain Heather Knight, claimed her maiden international wicket. The 17-year-old dismissed Lara Goodall for 42 after the pair had put on a century opening partnership. Anneke Bosch top-scored with 61 before falling to Sophie Ecclestone, who took two for 27.
South Africa posted 148 for six from their 20 overs, with Laura Wolvaardt contributing 21. In reply, England reached 149 for four with an over to spare. Danni Wyatt became the third England player to reach 2,000 T20I runs, scoring 39 from 24 balls, while Nat Sciver top-scored with 47 from 41 deliveries.
Maia Bouchier finished the chase with two fours, sealing the win and giving England an unassailable 10-2 lead in the multi-format series, having already won all three one-day internationals and the first T20I.
