Two men deny plotting arson attack on media company

Two men have entered not guilty pleas in a dramatic court hearing over allegations they conspired to firebomb a media company's London headquarters.

Dylan Butterfield, 21, and George Gray, 25, appeared at Inner London Crown Court where they denied charges of conspiring to commit arson with intent to endanger life. The alleged plot targeted the offices of a prominent media organization in the capital.

Serious Charges Laid Before Court

Butterfield, of no fixed address, faces additional serious allegations including possession of an explosive substance with intent to endanger life. Both defendants spoke only to confirm their identities and enter their pleas during the brief hearing.

The case has drawn significant attention due to the nature of the alleged target and the seriousness of the accusations. Prosecutors claim the men were involved in planning an attack that could have had devastating consequences.

Legal Proceedings Continue

Judge Benedict Kelleher KC has set a trial date for February 3rd, 2025, with the proceedings expected to last approximately two weeks. Both defendants were remanded in custody until their next court appearance scheduled for October 4th of this year.

The case continues to develop as authorities investigate the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and gather evidence for the upcoming trial.
