Trump Accuses Obama of Leaking Classified Info on Aliens
Trump: Obama Leaked Classified Info on Aliens

Former President Donald Trump has levelled a serious accusation against his predecessor, Barack Obama, alleging that he acted improperly by sharing classified information with the American public regarding the existence of extraterrestrial life. The controversy erupted following comments made by Obama on a podcast earlier this month.

Obama's Podcast Remarks Spark Speculation

In an episode of Brian Tyler Cohen's podcast that aired on January 14, the former president was asked directly if aliens are real. Obama responded, 'They're real, but I haven't seen them.' He added a light-hearted note, joking that they are not being kept at the infamous Area 51 facility, as far as he is aware.

The clip quickly went viral online, generating intense speculation and debate. The reaction was so significant that Obama felt compelled to issue a clarification the very next day. He posted explicitly, 'I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!' He explained that his initial statement was merely a reflection of his personal belief about the vastness of the universe and the statistical probability of life existing elsewhere.

Trump's Allegation of a Security Breach

However, Donald Trump seized upon the original remarks. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, while travelling to Georgia, Trump told Fox News reporter Peter Doocy aboard Air Force One that Obama was 'not supposed' to be sharing such information, which he characterised as 'classified.'

'I don't know if they're real or not,' Trump stated. 'I can tell you he gave classified information. He made a big mistake,' he added emphatically, accusing the former president of a significant error in judgement.

White House Reaction and Speech Rumours

Adding another layer to the unfolding drama, Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, revealed in a conversation with New York Post podcast host Miranda Devine that the president is reportedly preparing a major speech on the topic of extraterrestrials. This information came as a surprise to the administration's own press team.

At Wednesday's press briefing, Trump's spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, was questioned about Obama's comments and the potential for a presidential address on alien life. She responded with bemusement, stating, 'A speech on aliens would be news to me. That sounds very exciting, though. I'll have to check-in with our speech writing team.'

Leavitt continued, 'That would be of great interest to me personally, I'm sure all of you in this room – and apparently former President Obama, too. So, we'll keep you posted on that.' Her comments suggest the idea is under consideration, even if not yet formally planned.

The incident highlights the ongoing political tensions between the two former presidents and raises unusual questions about the handling of unconfirmed information regarding extraterrestrial life at the highest levels of government.
