Khloe Kardashian has been accused of fat-shaming after a 2019 interview resurfaced in which she criticised people who complain about their weight but do not change their diet or exercise habits. The clip, originally from the podcast 'On Purpose with Jay Shetty', went viral on Twitter after being shared in response to a thread criticising the reality star.
In the interview, Kardashian said: 'I can't stand people who are, like, eating a bucket of Haagen-Dazs ice cream and they are like: "I'm so fat." And like, they won't work out, they won't change their diet... they're complaining, complaining, complaining. I'm like, well, you're always going to be in this victimised state because you're literally not doing any... you're not being self-aware.'
The comments sparked an outpouring of criticism on social media, with many accusing Kardashian of hypocrisy given her own struggles with body image and her recent efforts to have an unfiltered photo of herself removed from the internet. In April, she spoke candidly about her body image struggles on Instagram, stating that everyone should have the right to ask for unflattering photos not to be shared.
Kardashian has not directly addressed the resurfaced interview, but she tweeted on Saturday: 'I pray you all are surrounded by health, happiness, love and blessings. I pray you all live a life you're proud of.' She also appeared to call out followers who 'create a narrative that fits what you choose to believe'.
