Beatrice and Eugenie Drawn into Epstein Scandal by Parents' Links

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie have been mentioned in the recently released Epstein files, though sources stress the references do not indicate wrongdoing. The royal sisters have been linked to the disgraced financier through their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who maintained a long-standing friendship with Epstein.

Emails from 2011 show Ferguson discussing with Epstein how Beatrice believed he should be allowed to move on after his conviction for sex trafficking a minor. Another exchange from 2010 reveals Epstein asking if either sister could greet an unnamed visitor in London, with Ferguson replying that Beatrice was in town with her father and Eugenie was away with a boyfriend.

After Epstein's release from prison, he claimed in an email that Sarah brought Beatrice and Eugenie, then aged 20 and 19, to celebrate. A source close to the family has said none of them recall this trip. Further emails from 2009 indicate Epstein's assistant arranged flights and a car for the three during a visit to Miami.

Royal author Andrew Lownie, who wrote a biography of Andrew and Sarah, told the Mirror that in his view, “The daughters are deeply involved in this.” He added, “The fact is they were all part of the same ecosystem.” However, the royal family is said to support the princesses and does not want them tarnished by their parents' actions.
