Carrick Expects Man United Future Decision Soon

Michael Carrick has said his situation at Manchester United remains unchanged as talks continue over him becoming the permanent manager. The interim boss has stabilised the club since replacing Ruben Amorim, guiding them back to the Champions League and to the brink of a third-place Premier League finish with two games remaining.

United have made Carrick their first-choice candidate for the permanent role, but the 44-year-old insists his focus is on finishing the season. Speaking ahead of Sunday's match against Nottingham Forest, Carrick said: “I can't blame you for asking [about my future]. There’s two games to go, apart from that there’s not much else to say.”

Carrick expressed pride in his work at the club, stating: “It’s a unique football club, a special club. I’m immensely proud to have come back and been a part of it… to make a big step, and back in the Champions League is good.”

He confirmed that a decision on his future will be made soon, possibly before the final game of the season against Brighton. “The future for me is going to be decided pretty soon,” Carrick added. “We knew that it was going to be towards the end of the season. Nothing has changed.”
