The BBC has announced that production has begun on its upcoming legal drama 'Reputation', a six-episode series set to captivate fans of 'The Split'. The show, described as 'high-stakes, intoxicating and hugely entertaining', follows solicitor Lena, played by Naomie Harris, as she becomes embroiled in a celebrity libel case.
Christina Hendricks stars as global pop sensation Davina Knight, who releases a provocative song accusing her ex-husband Billy (Kyle Soller) of abusive behaviour, sparking a public legal battle. The synopsis notes that the case extends beyond the courtroom, with PR campaigns, legal manoeuvres, and social media playing pivotal roles.
Harris revealed she was 'hooked' from the first page of the script by creator Anya Reiss, while Hendricks described her character as 'fantastic, fierce'. The cast also includes Emily Atack, Alex Jennings, David Gyasi, and Alex Heath.
Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, praised the series for its commentary on modern society, adding that Reiss has created 'two lead characters for the ages'.
