Thousands of people gathered in London's Trafalgar Square on Sunday for a pro-Israel rally marking 100 days since the deadly Hamas attack on 7 October. The event featured a video address from Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who thanked King Charles III, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, and Labour leader Keir Starmer for their support.
Attendees held posters bearing the faces of hostages and signs reading “100 days in hell”. Some waved pre-1979 Iranian flags, symbolising opposition to the current Iranian government. The Metropolitan Police reported a small counter-protest from the Neturei Karta group, and one man was detained but not arrested after taking a sign from the group.
Former Home Secretary Suella Braverman attended, stating, “I’m here to stand in solidarity with Israel. It has been 100 days since innocent people have been taken hostage by the Hamas terrorists and we need to bring them home now.”
Speakers included Israeli Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely, UK special envoy Eric Pickles, and Labour MP Christian Wakeford. Relatives of hostages also spoke; Eylon Keshet, cousin of hostage Yarden Bibas, said the time his baby Kfir had spent captive “might be a death sentence”.
Hotovely thanked London for “100 days of consistent support” and demanded the immediate release of the estimated 130 remaining hostages, who she said “continue to live a nightmare with every passing second”.
