Second Person Dies in M25 Crash After Police Pursuit

A second person has died following a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 in Hertfordshire, police have confirmed. The collision occurred between junction 22 (London Colney) and 21A (St Albans) at approximately 04:00 GMT on Sunday.

The incident involved a van that had been pursued by police prior to the crash. Three other vehicles collided with the van, resulting in the death of a woman on Sunday and a man on Tuesday. A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Hertfordshire Police stated that no police vehicles were involved in the collision and that the pursuit had been stood down before the crash. The force has referred the incident to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) for investigation into police actions prior to the collision.
