The family of a British man who died in Grenada has accused the UK government of neglect, claiming they were not adequately supported after the tragedy. David John Forster, 77, and his wife Rosalind, 76, died on the Caribbean island of Carriacou in August 2023.
Police believe Mr Forster suffered a heart attack while swimming at Paradise Beach, and his wife drowned trying to save him. The couple were on holiday with family when the incident occurred.
The Foreign Office said it was assisting the family, but relatives have criticised the response, saying they were left to deal with the aftermath alone. They claim the UK failed to provide timely consular support or help with repatriation.
A post-mortem examination will determine the exact cause of death. Paradise Beach, known for its clear waters, was voted best Caribbean beach in 2022.
