Dine and Dash Couple Flee £230 Bill After Guzzling Steaks and Shots

Footage has emerged of a couple who allegedly fled a restaurant in Brentwood, Essex, without paying a £231.30 bill after consuming steaks, starters, and 14 Baby Guinness shots. The incident occurred on May 16 at The Halfway House, where the pair were seated after requesting a table near the rear exit.

Deanne Perkins, the general manager, described the act as 'premeditated,' noting the couple's specific request to be moved closer to the exit. CCTV shows the woman leaving through the front door while on her phone, followed by the man looking around before exiting via the rear and running across the car park.

Perkins shared the footage online to warn other businesses. The woman later returned to pay £90 towards the bill, claiming she was unaware they had left without paying. However, the man has not yet settled his share, and Essex Police have been contacted.
