A man previously accused of stalking singer Billie Eilish has been killed after being hit by a train in Long Island, New York. Prenell Rousseau, 30, was struck by a Long Island Rail Road train at approximately 5:38 a.m. on Wednesday, according to local officials.
Reports indicate that Rousseau was jogging 'on or near' the tracks at the time of the incident. Authorities believe his death was accidental, as reported by the New York Post.
In 2020, Rousseau was arrested after repeatedly showing up at Eilish's home without invitation. Court documents filed by Eilish described his 'erratic behaviour' when he appeared in court. He allegedly approached the property seven times over two days in early May 2020.
During his first visit, Rousseau rang the doorbell and spoke to Eilish's father through a surveillance camera, insisting he was supposed to be there. After being told he had the wrong house, he returned later that evening, prompting Eilish's family to call a private security company. 'While we waited for security, Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue,' Eilish stated in court records. 'My father repeatedly asked him to leave, but he refused.'
Eilish, then 18, expressed fear for her family's safety, particularly as Rousseau visited during the COVID-19 pandemic without wearing a face mask. He was subsequently barred from contacting Eilish or her parents and ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from them.
