Kimmel Rips Pratt As Narcissist In La Mayoral Race

Jimmy Kimmel has criticised former reality TV star Spencer Pratt for his campaign to become the next mayor of Los Angeles, accusing him of wasting time and money in a bid to regain fame. On his late-night show, Kimmel compared Pratt’s rise to that of Donald Trump, warning viewers about the trend of celebrities using politics for personal gain.

Kimmel noted that Pratt, best known as “the screaming jerk on reality shows,” currently has an estimated 22% of potential votes. He argued that Pratt does not genuinely want to be mayor, but rather “wants to be a star again”. The host drew parallels with Trump, saying the former president only campaigned because his TV show was about to be cancelled and he wanted to remain relevant.

“The difference between Donald Trump and this guy is Donald Trump actually had a job before he was on a reality show,” Kimmel said. He added that the US is still “digging out of this giant hole” created by Trump, and that “this hole has given birth to Spencer Pratt”, whom he described as “another narcissist looking for attention”.

Kimmel urged voters to choose someone other than Pratt, stating that “mayor should not be your first job”. He advised those who do not want to vote for incumbent Karen Bass to find “somebody who isn’t wasting our time and money to get back on television”.
