Ralf Little, who plays DI Neville Parker on the hit BBC drama Death In Paradise, has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the show's filming conditions on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Despite the tropical setting, the actor revealed that the weather can be as grim and wet as the UK.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Little posted videos of himself navigating muddy paths through a forest, with rain clouds rolling in from the distance. As the heavens opened during lunch, he exclaimed: “We’ve just broken for lunch and we’re about to get our food and er… Ugh! It’s not what I came to the Caribbean for.”
Co-star Tahj Miles was also caught in the downpour, complaining: “I got water in my shoes.” Little responded: “You got water in your shoes? Sad times. Sad times on Death in Paradise. Eurgh.” The actor captioned his video: “It’s (not) always sunny in Guadeloupe…”
Fans reacted to the posts, with one claiming better weather in Devon, writing: “Lovely sunny day in Devon today and there's palm trees.” Another from northern France said: “For once, in the North of France, the sky is blue…”
Little also joked that the set could become a crime scene after a downpour made the route treacherous. He shared footage of his journey through the jungle, warning: “It rained about half an hour ago and I came down here in my costume shoes, it was treacherous.”
