Former Big Brother contestant Nicola McLean has called for Caroline Monk to be removed from the ITV reality show following an 'offensive' remark towards housemate Zelah Glasson. During Tuesday's episode (October 8), Caroline, a 56-year-old PR executive, made a controversial comment about Zelah, who is a trans man, during a game of spin the bottle.
After Nancy Nocerino, who identifies as pansexual, said she found Zelah most attractive, Caroline jumped up, pointed at Zelah and exclaimed: 'She's a girl' before adding 'but you haven't got a willy. Is that really bad?' The following day, Big Brother issued Caroline a formal warning for her 'offensive and unacceptable' language and behaviour.
Nicola McLean, who appeared on Celebrity Big Brother twice, told WhichBingo: 'I was absolutely gobsmacked that she only got a warning and she didn't get kicked out. It's the way she carried on. She's an educated woman with a PR background and not that old, so she damn well knows she shouldn't be saying it.'
During the same game, Caroline also asked Zelah what he would do if he 'had a c**k', to which Zelah replied 'helicopter', laughing but clearly uncomfortable. On the companion show Late and Live, it was revealed that Caroline had apologised to Zelah, saying: 'I've never felt as bad ever in my life as what I did that night. Why did it come out of my mouth? I've got no excuse.'
