Wales suffered a second consecutive Women's Six Nations whitewash as they were defeated 43-24 by Italy in Cardiff. The visitors scored seven tries, leaving Wales winless at the bottom of the table once again.
First half battle
Italy took an early lead when Vittoria Ostuni Minuzzi crossed the line after just four minutes. However, Wales responded strongly, with tries from Courtney Keight, Carys Cox, and Kelsey Jones giving them a two-point advantage at half-time.
Second half dominance
The second half proved to be a different contest entirely. Italy ran in four tries, while Wales could only manage a consolation score from Kayleigh Powell in the final minute. The 43-24 defeat means Sean Lynn's side remain without a Women's Six Nations victory under his tenure.
Lynn, appointed last year after leading Gloucester-Hartpury to three consecutive Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) titles, is still searching for his first win as Wales head coach. The team finished bottom of the table for the second year running.
