Beyond Paradise Star Jamie Bamber Joins Spy Thriller The Hive

Jamie Bamber, best known for his role as Archie Hughes in the BBC drama Beyond Paradise, has signed on for a new espionage thriller titled The Hive. The 53-year-old actor will appear alongside Franka Potente and Sophie Cookson in the upcoming film, which is currently in post-production.

The Hive follows a high-tech counter-terrorism unit tasked with neutralising threats. The plot centres on a political summit in Tenerife, where Commander Kate McKenzie (Potente) mobilises her elite team after a bomb explodes in the city centre. Undercover agent María Gómez (Cookson) may prove pivotal in the operation.

Bamber's specific role has not yet been disclosed. The cast also includes Adam Palsson and Gonzola Bouza. Filming took place in summer 2025 in Tenerife and Cologne, Germany. An official release date has not been announced, but the film is expected later this year.

Meanwhile, production for Beyond Paradise series five is scheduled to begin in July 2026 in Devon, with the show returning to BBC early next year.
