A person was rushed to hospital after falling onto rocks in a remote area along the Vale of Glamorgan coastline.
Porthcawl RNLI Lifeboat was paged by HM Coastguard following a 999 call reporting a casualty with a suspected broken pelvis. The individual had fallen onto rocks in the Monknash area.
Emergency response launched
Several volunteer crews were involved in the incident, which happened on Sunday evening (August 23). Porthcawl's inshore lifeboats, Atlantic 85 'Rose of the Shires' and D Class 'Hugo Missen', were launched to the scene alongside crews from Llantwit Major Coastguard and Barry Coastguard.
When the volunteer crew arrived on scene, they assessed the casualty and provided care alongside colleagues from the Coastguard.
Casualty stabilised and transferred
Porthcawl RNLI confirmed that the casualty was then stabilised and carried by stretcher to the Atlantic 85 lifeboat.
Once back at Porthcawl lifeboat station the casualty was then transferred to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
