Gaby Roslin has shared which moments from her new ITV show left her emotionally moved. The TV veteran, alongside vet Dr Bolu Eso, fronts The Joy of Pets, a series exploring Britain's affection for its four-legged, furry, feathered and scaly companions.
Nationwide Journey to Discover the Human-Animal Bond
With pets in more than half of UK households, Gaby and Dr Bolu travel across the country to understand why animals hold such a special place in people's lives. They meet devoted owners and their pets, uncovering stories of companionship, loyalty, laughter and, in some cases, animals that have saved their owners' lives.
The series also covers the practical side of pet ownership, with expert vets offering advice and tips to keep animals happy, healthy and well cared for.
Emotional Moments: Therapy Animals and Medical Detection Dogs
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Gaby said: "For me, it's the pets as therapy animals. These amazing animals that goes into dementia homes and care homes and with people with special education needs and people who are autistic, it's just incredible."
Dr Bolu added: "I love the medical detection dogs. I love what they do and I love what they stand for. It's the fact that these dogs are detecting cancers, they're detecting Parkinson's, they're detecting old people's conditions. They really enhance people's quality of life just by being there."
