Nurse Struck Off for Telling Patient Covid Vaccines Caused Cancer
Nurse Struck Off Over Covid Vaccine Cancer Claim

A nurse in Dorset has been struck off after telling a patient that Covid vaccinations were "what caused your cancer" and providing them with an anti-vaccination leaflet.

Misconduct Panel Findings

Penny Ann Senner, an adult nurse at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, faced a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) misconduct panel. The tribunal found four out of six charges proven against her.

The patient had believed they were answering a routine question when asked about their Covid vaccine status. Senner explicitly told the patient that the vaccine caused their cancer, a statement unsupported by medical evidence.

Professional Consequences

As a result of her actions, Senner has been removed from the nursing register, effectively ending her career as a nurse. The NMC panel emphasized the seriousness of spreading misinformation, especially in a healthcare setting.

This case highlights the importance of maintaining professional standards and relying on evidence-based information when advising patients.
