Baxters soup recall: cans may swell and rupture, FSA warns
Baxters soup recall: cans may swell and rupture

The Food Standards Agency has issued an alert over tins of Baxters Chef Selections Cullen Skink soup, warning that a manufacturing fault could cause the cans to swell and potentially rupture. Consumers who have bought the 400g product are being told not to open or eat it.

Recall details and affected product

The affected product is Baxters Chef Selections Cullen Skink soup, 400g, with batch code L07XC and a best before date of April 2029. The FSA said Baxters has issued a recall notice, and notices will be displayed in stores across the UK where the product is sold, as well as on websites.

According to the FSA, the recall is due to a manufacturing fault which may cause spoilage of the product and for cans to swell and potentially rupture, resulting in an unpleasant odour and flavour.

What consumers should do

The FSA advised: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, dispose of the full can and product without opening. Carefully place the full can in a bag and dispose of it in an external bin. Contact Baxters Customer Care team via the details below for a replacement. For further information, please contact Baxters on 0800 389 8389 or e-mail CCUK@baxters.com”
