An air ambulance landed at Aberavon Beach in Port Talbot on Wednesday afternoon following a reported medical emergency, prompting a multi-agency response from emergency services.

Emergency services were called to the beach just after 4pm on June 24. The Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter, operated by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS), provided advanced critical care at the scene. The nature of the medical incident has not yet been disclosed.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed: "We were called today at approximately 4:07pm, to reports of a medical emergency on Aberavon beach. We sent two Cymru High Acuity Response Units, one emergency ambulance, a hazardous area response team and an operations manager to the scene. Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter."
