Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson has been appointed as the guest curator for the Teenage Cancer Trust's annual series of fundraising concerts in 2027, describing the role as an "immense privilege" to support young people affected by cancer.
Manson's Role and Event Details
The week-long concert series is scheduled to take place from March 15 to 21 next year at the Royal Albert Hall. Manson will curate the lineup of artists, which has yet to be announced. She is only the second guest curator for the event, following Robert Smith of The Cure, who successfully helmed the 2026 run. Sir Roger Daltrey, who initiated the prestigious event in 2000, curated it until 2025.
Fundraising Success and Impact
Since its inception, the annual concerts have collectively raised over £36 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust. This year's event alone generated £1.4 million. Manson expressed her commitment to raising funds and awareness for "all-too-often-forgotten teenagers" in the UK living with cancer, aiming to curate a "fine week of entertainment" at the iconic venue.
Manson stated, "It is an immense privilege to be asked to curate the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts. I am determined to do everything I can to raise funds and awareness for these all-too-often-forgotten teenagers in the UK living with cancer." She added that she hopes to put together a memorable lineup that will entertain audiences and support the cause.
