The Good Food Guide has released its annual 100 Best Local Restaurants list for 2026, featuring three Liverpool venues: Little Clove Kitchen (ranked 30th), Belzan (65th), and Chin-Zano (75th). The list, now ranked for the first time, is topped by La Locanda in Gisburn, Lancashire.
Liverpool's representation
Little Clove Kitchen, located in Liverpool, secured the 30th spot. Belzan on Smithdown Road ranked 65th, and Chin-Zano on Love Lane came in at 75th. Additionally, Bolete in Neston, Cheshire, also made the list at 82nd place.
Methodology and recognition
The list is compiled from tens of thousands of public reader nominations and anonymous evaluations by professional inspectors. Chloë Hamilton, Head of Reviews & Listings at the Good Food Guide, said: “In the face of adversity, creativity has flourished in unusual and unlikely places. It has been hugely rewarding to see how these tiny operations are offering outstanding quality in a way that so clearly strikes a chord with the local crowd.”
History and format
First compiled by Raymond Postgate in 1951, the Good Food Guide is now owned by Knife & Fork Media and operates as a fully digital publication featuring 1,200 restaurants, pubs, cafes, and wine bars across Britain.
