Whitehouse Farm Christmas Event 2026 Confirmed After Walkway Fears

Whitehouse Farm in Northumberland has confirmed that its popular Christmas event, the Enchanted Elf Journey, will go ahead in 2026, much to the delight of families across the North East. The announcement follows weeks of uncertainty after the Morpeth attraction was ordered to remove a covered walkway that had been a key part of the magical experience for several years.

Background of the Controversy

Last week, in an emotional social media video viewed by tens of thousands, a tearful Heather Hogarty explained the situation regarding the enforcement notice concerning the walkway. She told followers of the Whitehouse Farm page that they were trying to come up with an 'alternative' for Christmas 2026 but were very much up against it to make it happen. In the caption, the farm wrote: 'We have worked on this Christmas event tirelessly for so many years to create what it is today and we currently have no idea what we can do for the 2026 season. As a seasonal business, these sort of events are what ensure the business survives throughout the quiet times. We don’t want to disappoint our visitors but we genuinely don’t know what we can do.'

Positive Update

However, just before lunchtime on Tuesday, the tone shifted positively. A Facebook post confirmed: 'Thank you for all of your kind comments on our previous visit. We are so lucky to have a business in which our visitors are like friends and family. Your support truly doesn't go unnoticed. We are pleased to say that we are going ahead with Santa's Enchanted Elf Journey 2026. All of the usual festive fun you love will stay the same on the farm, the only change will be the Enchanted Forest. It may look slightly different this year, but your VIP and personal experience will stay the same.'

The Enchanted Elf Journey is one of the hottest tickets in the region, with sessions selling out quickly last summer and additional dates added to meet demand.
