Strictly Star Ross King Teams Up with Will Young for Pantomime

Strictly Come Dancing star Ross King has announced a major career development, revealing that he will return to the stage in pantomime alongside singer Will Young. The news was shared during Wednesday's episode of Lorraine, where King, 64, appeared live from the ITV London studio rather than his usual Los Angeles base.

Ross King Returns to Pantomime with Will Young

During the segment, host Lorraine Kelly teased the collaboration, saying, 'You have teamed up with Will Young for something very, very special. I would never have put the two of you together necessarily but it is for something super!' King confirmed the project is a pantomime production of Cinderella, in which he will reprise the role of Buttons. 'So last year I came back, I was back with Rylan over at Southend and then this year we're going to be at Plymouth so I'm heading up to Plymouth next week for the press call with Will Young for Cinderella again. So I can't wait!' he said.

Cinderella at Theatre Royal Plymouth

Theatre Royal Plymouth and Crossroads Pantomimes announced earlier this year that Will Young, 47, will take centre stage as The Fairy Godfather in the production. The show runs from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. Kelly expressed her enthusiasm, recalling a work outing to see King's previous pantomime performance: 'We love that, because we all went as a work outing to see you, and it was just the best night.'

King's Strictly Journey and Young's Pop Idol Fame

King, who serves as Lorraine's showbiz correspondent, recently participated in Strictly Come Dancing in 2025, partnered with professional dancer Jowita Przystal. The pair were the second contestants eliminated from the BBC One series. Will Young, who rose to fame after winning the first series of Pop Idol in 2002, is no stranger to Strictly, having competed in 2016 before withdrawing mid-series for personal reasons.

Lorraine continues weekdays at 9:30am on ITV and ITVX.
