Jack P Shepherd, who has played David Platt on Coronation Street since 2000, has landed a new acting role that will take him away from the cobbles this Christmas. The actor will make his pantomime debut as the Prince in Sleeping Beauty at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, running from December 12 to January 2. David's recent weeks have been filled with drama involving his troubled sister-in-law Jodie Ramsay (Olivia Frances-Brown), who attempted to seduce him while he was drunk by pretending to be his wife Shona (Julia Goulding).

Earlier this week, Shepherd and his wife Hanni Treweek welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Constance Ita Shepherd, born at home on June 26, 2026.
