Paul Scholes has shared his mixed feelings about Manchester United’s upcoming All or Nothing documentary, but believes fans will thoroughly enjoy it. The announcement on Monday confirmed that the Red Devils have partnered with Amazon to film the 2026/27 season for the popular series, offering an unprecedented behind-the-scenes look at Old Trafford and Carrington.
Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City have previously featured in the All or Nothing series, with City being the first Premier League club to participate. Other editions have covered Juventus (2021), the Brazil national team (2020), and the All Blacks (2018). Now, Manchester United’s stars will be under the microscope.
Scholes’ Perspective as a Former Player and Fan
Scholes admitted he would have hated the concept during his playing days. However, as a retired fan, he now loves watching these documentaries, particularly the insight into Mikel Arteta’s methods at Arsenal. Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Football, he said: ‘Yeah probably, but do you know what, for a fan they are brilliant to watch. I watched the Arsenal one. Not for a player, the players and the manager probably won’t like it, but for fans watching…City did it as well with Pep, it’s amazing watching people like Arteta, what he’s like. You learn a lot of stuff.’ He added: ‘As a player I can’t think of anything worse.’
Record-Breaking Deal for Manchester United
The documentary is set to cost Amazon more than any of their previous Premier League films, with Manchester United receiving a record fee. Arsenal and Tottenham reportedly earned around £10 million each for their documentaries, and the Red Devils will secure an even higher amount. The club had previously considered filming last season but decided against it.
Club Statement
Manchester United’s chief communications officer, Toby Craig, explained: ‘Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people. This documentary will showcase Manchester United’s unique people, ambition and culture; from the iconic atmosphere at Old Trafford to the work that goes on behind the scenes every day at Carrington. We will share some of the stories of this historic club both with our fans and new audiences around the world as we compete at the highest level, both domestically and in the Champions League.’
The All or Nothing: Manchester United documentary is scheduled for release in the summer of 2027.
