Red Dwarf Star Charles Augins Dies At 81

Charles Augins, best known for playing Queeg in the second series of the BBC sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, has died at the age of 81. He passed away on July 19, with tributes pouring in from fans and friends.

Augins also choreographed the iconic Tongue Tied dance performed by Craig Charles, Chris Barrie and Danny John-Jules in the same series. His career spanned acting, dancing and choreography, with extensive work in musical theatre.

His friend Courtney Baker Oliver paid tribute on Instagram, describing Augins as a mentor, inspiration and surrogate father. She wrote: 'He was the first person to support my work as a director and always encouraged me to dream bigger.'
