Lorraine Episodes Halved in Length as ITV Cuts Take Hold

ITV has announced a major overhaul of its daytime schedule, with Lorraine Kelly's programme reduced to 30 minutes from January 2026. The show will air from 9.30am to 10am for 30 weeks of the year, with Good Morning Britain extending to fill the vacated 9am slot for the remaining 22 weeks.

Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 9.30am, instead of its current 6am to 9am slot. Lorraine will continue to be presented five days a week by Kelly, but her Friday stand-ins Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard will no longer be needed. This Morning and Loose Women remain unaffected.

The changes are part of a cost-cutting drive at ITV. Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of ITV's Media and Entertainment Division, said the reshuffle will allow the broadcaster to reinvest savings into other genres and expand news output. The move follows ITV's earlier decision to reduce episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale to 30 minutes from January 2026.

ITV has also reportedly received takeover approaches for its ITV Studios production arm from RedBird IMI and Banijay. Chairman Andrew Cosslett confirmed the broadcaster would take any offers seriously, but emphasised the current strategy of making the best of existing assets.
