Andrew Fleming Steps Into Steve Walls' Shoes
Whitley Bay Playhouse has announced that former Britain's Got Talent star Andrew Fleming will replace local pantomime legend Steve Walls in this year's Christmas production of Snow White. Walls, who had been a staple of the Playhouse panto for 15 years, announced his departure earlier this year to move to a different pantomime.
Steve Walls' Emotional Farewell
Producers Blue Genie confirmed Walls' exit, thanking him for "creating countless memories for audiences." In his own statement, Walls told fans: "Thank you so much to the audiences, casts, crews, staff and everyone connected with the Playhouse Whitley Bay. I’ve loved my fifteen years there, and it has such a special place in my heart. It wasn’t a decision I took lightly. I’ve made many friends for life in those years."
Snow White Cast and Dates
This year's pantomime, Snow White, will run from December 4 to January 5, with matinee and evening performances. The cast includes Theo Mayne from The Traitors as Prince Theodore and North East native Michelle Heaton as Snow White. Andrew Fleming, a comedic impressionist who reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent Series 9 in 2019, will play Muddles.
Fleming's Excitement
Fleming expressed his delight: "I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the Playhouse pantomime this Christmas and cannot wait to meet the legendary Whitley Bay audiences. The Playhouse has such a fantastic reputation for pantomime, and I’m looking forward to bringing plenty of laughs, fun and energy to the show. We’re going to work incredibly hard to make this a Christmas to remember for everyone."
