Wednesday Season 3: Noah B. Taylor Exits, Winona Ryder Joins Cast

Major Cast Shake-Up for Wednesday Season Three as Production Begins

Netflix's record-breaking series Wednesday is undergoing significant cast changes ahead of its highly anticipated third season. Series regular Noah B. Taylor, who portrayed the werewolf character Bruno Yuson, will not be returning for the new episodes.

Taylor's character Bruno became a central figure in season two's dramatic storyline, where he was revealed to have been cheating on his werewolf girlfriend Enid Sinclair, played by Emma Myers. His final scene showed him leaving Nevermore Academy, marking a definitive exit from the show.

Pattern of Romantic Interest Departures Continues

This departure follows a similar pattern established in previous seasons. Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe, was dropped ahead of season two following sexual assault misconduct allegations against him. His character was subsequently "barely mentioned" in the new episodes, establishing a precedent for how the show handles cast changes involving romantic interests.

Netflix confirmed on Monday that production for season three of Wednesday has officially commenced in Dublin. Tim Burton returns as both director and executive producer for the series, which holds the distinction of being Netflix's most-viewed show of all time.

Showrunners Promise New Mysteries and Familiar Darkness

Showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar expressed their enthusiasm in a press release, stating: "It's our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy's gates once more as we begin production on season three. We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom."

They added: "To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary — your twisted theories have inspired nightmares. This season, we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don't say you weren't warned."

Star-Studded New Additions to the Cast

While Taylor departs, the show welcomes several high-profile newcomers. Winona Ryder joins as a recurring guest star, reuniting with frequent collaborator Tim Burton and her Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Jenna Ortega. This marks a significant reunion for the creative team behind some of Burton's most iconic works.

Ryder will be joined by other new cast members including Chris Sarandon, Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, and coincidentally another actor named Noah Taylor. Previously announced cast member Eva Green will portray the long-lost sister of Catherine Zeta Jones's Morticia Addams, adding another layer to the Addams Family mythology.

Returning Favorites and Promotions

Joanna Lumley, who plays Wednesday's grandmother Granmama Hester Frump, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming season. This expanded role suggests her character will play a more significant part in season three's narrative.

Series regulars returning for the new season include Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Hunter Doohan, Billie Piper, and Joy Sunday. Fred Armisen will continue in his recurring role as Uncle Fester.

Burton's Enthusiasm for the New Season

Tim Burton expressed his excitement about the upcoming season in a statement: "I'm so excited to be back for season three, and it's great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, and Noah — makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky."

The combination of returning favorites and exciting new additions suggests Wednesday season three will continue to blend the show's signature dark humor with fresh character dynamics and deeper explorations of the Addams Family universe.
