56 Days Thriller Tops Prime Video Chart as Fans Binge-Watch

The psychological thriller 56 Days, starring Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia, has climbed to number one on Prime Video's worldwide TV chart following its release last month. Based on Catherine Ryan Howard's 2021 novel, the eight-part series follows Ciara and Oliver, a couple who meet by chance in a supermarket and begin a relationship.

Fifty-six days later, police discover an unidentifiable corpse, and the investigation unravels the couple's turbulent love affair, revealing hidden secrets. The series has been described as "gripping" by viewers, with one IMDb user calling it "intelligent" and noting that it "pulls you in gently... and then refuses to let go."

On IMDb, 56 Days holds a rating of 6.7/10 from 4,400 ratings. Another viewer praised the writing, saying it "keeps you in a loop of what's next." However, on Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a mixed approval rating of 58% from 26 reviews, with RogerEbert.com describing the writing and direction as "dreadful" in a one-star review.

The Age (Australia) criticised the series for revealing too much of the plot, while The Wrap was more positive, calling it "entertaining." For those who have finished 56 Days, Prime Video also offers Vanished, starring Sam Claflin and Kaley Cuoco, which centres on a couple whose lives are turned upside down.
