Bafta-Winning Film 'I Swear' With Perfect Score Arrives on Netflix

The critically acclaimed Bafta-winning film 'I Swear' is now streaming on Netflix, arriving on the platform on March 10. The emotional biopic took home three awards at the 79th Bafta ceremony last month, including best casting and both the EE rising star and leading actor gongs for Robert Aramayo.

The 33-year-old actor plays John Davidson, a Scottish man who developed severe Tourette's syndrome at age 12. The film follows Davidson's youth in 1980s Scotland, where his condition was widely misunderstood, leading to bullying, physical attacks, and even arrest. Davidson, now 54, has since become an activist and was made an MBE in 2019 for his campaigning work.

'I Swear' boasts a perfect 100% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 99% audience rating. Critics have praised Aramayo's performance as 'beautiful,' 'heart-rending,' and 'astonishing.' Director Kirk Jones said the film has been warmly received because it 'hit a chord' with audiences, describing it as 'a very hopeful film' about 'a man who never gives up.'
