Jordan Banjo, a star of Celebrity Gogglebox, had to step away from the sofa after a spine-chilling horror film left the cast shrieking in terror. The latest episode of the Channel 4 favourite, aired on Friday, July 3, saw the celebrity armchair critics watching a variety of programmes, from Countdown to Clarkson's Farm. However, the mood turned uneasy when the group tuned into horror film Weapons.
Horror Film Proves Too Much
The film centres on 17 children from the same classroom who mysteriously vanish on the same night at the same time. The scenes proved too much for Jordan Banjo, who decided to take a breather while watching alongside fellow Diversity performer Perri Kiely. Several celebrities looked scared as they witnessed a particularly unsettling scene featuring a sinister character known as Aunt Gladys, portrayed by Amy Madigan, who turned up at a house and requested a bowl rather than a glass of water.
Disturbing Scene Forces Exit
Matters took a deeply disturbing turn when Aunt Gladys seized a wooden stick she had been toying with and dragged it across her palm, slicing it open, leaving Jordan visibly horrified, reports the Mirror. He grabbed a cushion to shield himself from the screen as a man in the film proceeded to open his mouth and unleash torrents of black liquid. 'I need a break, I need a break,' Jordan declared, as Perri cried out: 'No!' The dancer then rose to his feet and retreated from the sofa, saying: 'I need a drink. Do you want anything?'
Return Without Drinks
However, he quickly returned, telling Perri that upon reaching the kitchen he had noticed a bowl of water on the side which had startled him. 'No!' he said, settling back down without having made the drinks. Viewers were amused by the scenes, with one posting on X: 'So funny.' Another wrote on the platform, formerly known as Twitter: 'Who doesn't just love a bit of Celebrity Gogglebox. Always such an entertaining way to spend the time.' 'The perfect switch your brain off TV this time of night needs,' they added. Another person described it as 'brilliant stuff'. A further viewer dubbed the series 'top notch'.
